Welcome

The Difference - Our People, Our Technology!

What makes Ultron different from other examination companies is our highly specialized staff, our advanced reporting capabilities and our innovative technologies in several areas of heavy industry. Our primary focus is to assist your company with preventive maintenance programs thereby reducing unscheduled downtime.

It takes a unique individual to seek a career that involves climbing on suspension ropes 200 feet above the ground, crawling through longwall roof support shields 800 feet underground, experiencing summer conditions in Central America and weathering winter conditions in Northern Canada and Alaska. Ultron has an entire staff of knowledgable CAREER professionals ready to do just that. No single-task oriented people. No constant turnover. Simply caring individuals that desire to help you get the most out of your critical components. The staff at Ultron is committed to educating themselves about your equipment, your needs, and better methods to help you improve your bottom line.

Several of Ultron's key personnel have more than 10 years of working experience in the industry. While the single-task trained technicians at other companies might leave their respective NDE company after a few years, Ultron's technicians are continuing to refine their knowledge of Ultrasound, Eddy Current and Radiography as well as learning more about the mining, cement, steel and paper industries. Over 150 years of combined knowledge is ready to serve you.

As you know, the learning never ends in heavy industry. Ultron's technicians experience ongoing training in the classroom and on the job. When a new examination technique is developed on a particular component, the procedure is documented and distributed to all technicians on staff. A productive procedure used on a machine in California can also be used on the same type of machine in Florida. In addition, close informational ties with OEM's and the advantage of working on machines world wide give Ultron the ability to conduct annual training sessions that most NDE companies only dream about. Visual Gear Examinations and Advanced Lubricants given by Original Equipment Manufacturers are examples of some of the topics covered in the last couple of years.

Our technicians are certified in Ultrasonics, Eddy Current, Magnetic Particle and Specialized Radiography in accordance with SNT-TC-1A. Some of our staff also give lectures at surrounding colleges and lead seminars for Cosmet maintenance managers and MSHA. Ultron has its own MSHA ID number and our technicians are trained in Parts 46, 47 & 48. We invite you to view our safety record - ID #DXG. (www.MSHA.gov)

No one in heavy industry can exceed the professionalism and content of our preliminary and/or final reports. Ultron's technicians are armed with the most up to date equipment to perform examinations and the latest computer equipment to report our results. Ultron's clients do not just receive a hand written piece of paper and a handshake, but a bound document including AutoCAD drawings and digital pictures (then a handshake!). Ultron's final report includes an engineering discussion involving OEM assistance (if necessary), enhanced AutoCAD drawings, and digital photography. A hard copy of the report is submitted in a functional three ring binder as well as on a compact disc in Adobe pdf format. If you choose to place the report on your network, everyone in your organization can view the report from his/her computer screen. This is far beyond receiving a handwritten piece of paper.

Over the years, the Ultron staff has developed more than 200 Ultrasonic Special Application Examination techniques for the mining, rolling mill and rotary processing industries. We continue to develop additional techniques for the heavy industries. The specialized Eddy Current probes we developed have been refined during the last 15 years.

We employ some of the most talented people in the world and are fortunate enough to posess some of the highest quality instrumentation. Our reporting capabilites are unmatched in the industry and our advanced technology continues to contribute to the success of Ultron. A final distinction surrounding our success relates to our third party/no subsidization status. Ultron has always been, and will always be, a third party examination company. Ultron is not owned by an OEM, industrial insurance provider, or anyone affiliated with heavy industry. Because of this independent status, you can be assured that an objective examination and review of any component will be provided and a non-biased report will be submitted providing you with the best options.

The next time you are considering an inspection company, ask yourself a few questions:

  • Does the company have the most qualified and highly trained people?
  • Does the company offer the best technology to do the job?
  • Do their technicians know what needs to be done and how to go about it without being a hindrance to you?
  • Are you going to receive the report you need to make the best decision?
  • Does the company really care about you and your needs?
  • If the answer to any of these questions is uncertain - do yourself a favor and call Ultron. Ultron will take care of YOU!
